Meghan Markle gets unexpected celebrity shoutout
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's anniversary celebration takes surprising Hollywood turn
Meghan Markle received a celebrity shoutout following her romantic anniversary tribute to Prince Harry.
After the Duchess of Sussex posted a carousel of wedding photos on Instagram on May 19 in order to celebrate their wedding anniversary, pop icon Paula Abdul gave a special shoutout to the duchess.
Reposting Meghan's post, which featured her hit track Forever Your Girl, on her own social media account, Abdul sent warm wishes to the royal couple.
"So sweet to hear 'Forever Your Girl' over these beautiful memories," she wrote.
Adding, "Wishing you both continued love, laughter and a very Happy Anniversary! XoP."
Meghan's anniversary post featured never-seen-before wedding photos of the couple. In the caption, she wrote, "Eight years ago today…"
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrated their wedding anniversary with their kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. They blew out candles on a lemon and eldwerflower cake, the same flavor that the London bakery owner Claire Ptak used for their actual wedding cake in 2018.
Notably, the Duke of Sussex surprised his wife with a bronze sculpture of two penguins nestled closely together. "When mama and papa got engaged, we had a party with all of our friends, and we said, ‘Everyone wear an animal onesie,’" Meghan told their kids, noting, "we were penguins."
