Nasir Shah says PPP not playing Sindh but Pakistan card
ISLAMABAD: Sindh Minister for Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has raised his voice for the rights of the province as the federal government has not yet given Rs87 billion that was affecting Sindh’s development plans.
While addressing a press conference at the Sindh House on Thursday with Faisal Karim Kundi, Sharjeel Memon, Haider Zaman Qureshi and Nazir Dhoki, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said they claimed that we have been playing the Sindh card, while we have actually been playing the Pakistan card, as we are talking about the issues of the entire country. He said Sindh contributed 70 percent of the revenue but the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) allocated very little funds for Sindh. He said some districts of the province have been facing continuous water crisis, unfair distribution of water by the IRSA and in most parts there was no drinking water available to the people.
The provincial information minister said the 1991 Water Accord is not being implemented through letter and spirit. He said the federal ministers have continuously been lying instead of presenting facts to save their ministries. He said due to anti-people policies of the PTI-led federal government, the people of Badin have rejected the government candidates, while other parties could not find any candidate, so they supported the JUI-F candidate, who got only six and a half thousand votes. He claimed the PPP carried out the development work due to which the people supported his party.
Nasir Hussain Shah said the PPP has won more seats in Sindh than ever before, and when Faisal Vawda had left the seat for the Senate elections, the PTI was exposed in Baldia Town. He said fatal diseases, including heart issues, liver transplants and cancer were being treated free of cost only in Sindh. He said the federal government was handing over Sindh’s projects to a private company, which would be opposed by the provincial government. He stated that the NDMA was cleaning only three drains of Karachi, while 38 others were being cleaned by the Solid Waste Management Company and would be supervised by NESPAK.
Talking about the attack on Bahria Town, Nasir Shah said Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari took notice of the incident. He said the PPP would not allow anyone to abuse others’ rights, saying it was unacceptable that the protesters had blocked roads, chanted anti-Pakistan slogans, and damaged private properties, while some of the protesters had carried the pictures of MQM-L leader Altaf Hussain. He said they are shedding tears for Karachi but they had destroyed the institutions. Nasir Shah said in the operation against the Katcha dacoits, the police have rescued many of the abductees, killed and arrested a number of dacoits and have sacrificed their lives.
