GCU KSK phase-1 complete

LAHORE:Government College University (GCU) Lahore has successfully completed Phase-I of the construction in its 400 acres New Campus at the Kala Shah Kaku (KSK) at a cost of Rs997.608 million.

In the first phase, one academic block for 1,200 students, a boys hostel with a capacity of 300 students, administrative block, residential apartments for staff and other facilities, including road infrastructure had been constructed besides sewerage and roads infrastructure. GCU Vice-Chancellor Dr Asghar Zaidi said academic activities already started on the University’s new campus and students from the university’s eight departments, including BA/BSc (Hons) Physical Education, Botany Zoology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Psychology and Fine Arts had been attending their classes in the Academic Block of new campus. He said that with the completion of Phase-I of new campus, about 2,000 students would study on this campus from September 2021.

UET: Ex-members of Dramatics Society of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore have won three awards at the New York City International Film Festival (NYCIFF). According to a press release, “Darya Kay Iss Par” (This Bank of the River) is a 30-minute short film which recently won three awards at NYCIFF for Best Narrative Short Film, Best Director & Best Lead Actress.
