MANSEHRA: Federal Minister for Haj and Religious Affairs Sardar Mohammad Yousaf has held provincial government responsible for the delay in completion of New Balakot city housing project. Speaking at a gathering of representatives of local government in Balakoton Sunday, he said that Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) was working sincerely to complete that mega project on behalf of federal government but the landowners, who had received the money, didn’t vacate land. “We are serious in handing over allotment documents to red zone families but it is impossible until the development work of the project is completed,” said Sardar Yousaf. The federal minster said that no doubt survivor families of red zone, Balakot, were living a miserable life in shelter houses. Sardar Yousaf said that his party, PML-N, never played politics on issues related to the welfare of people. “The provincial government should realise it and ensure that land meant for the project is retrieved and handed over to the authorities concerned for completion of the project,” he added. PML-N MPA from Balakot Mian Ziaur Rehman said owing to apathy of PTI-led government the project was facing serious challenges and residents of red zone were suffering a lot.
