Land for IT varsity approved: minister

LAHORE
Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that approval has been given for providing land for construction of Information Technology University (ITU) in Lahore Knowledge Park.
According to a handout, the IT University will be constructed over an area of about 100 acre in the park. The Board of Directors of Lahore Knowledge Park after a briefing by Dr Umar Saif decided to give the land required for the IT University project in two phases.
Rana Mashhood told this while presiding over a meeting of Board of Directors of Lahore Knowledge Park here on Friday. Secretary Higher Education Irfan Ali and other members were also present on the occasion.
The minister also said that in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Board of Directors of Lahore Knowledge Park Company, IT University was also being included on the pattern of other international universities. He said this university would be a state-of-the-art university and would pave the way for arrival of other international standard universities. He said that Lahore Knowledge Park was a revolutionary idea to put the country on the road to progress and prosperity through promotion of knowledge-based economy and the blending of applied sciences and the corporate sector.
PU results: Punjab University (PU) Examinations Department on Friday announced the results of various examinations.
These exams included MA Archaeology, Part-I Annual Examination 2015, MA Diplomacy & Strategic Studies, Part-I Annual Examination 2015, MA Punjabi, Part-I Annual Examination 2015, MA Economics, Part-II Annual Examination 2015, MA English, Part-II Annual Examination 2015, M A Kashmiriat, Par-I & II Annual Examination 2015, MBA Part-III (3 ½ years programme), 2nd Annual Examination 2014 and MA Education, Part-II (Elementary/Secondary/General) Supplementary 2014 and Annual Exams 2015.
