KDA official arrested by NAB dies at hospital
Two years after a former director of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), Abdul Qavi Khan, arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), died under mysterious circumstances in the Central Jail Karachi, another KDA official arrested by NAB died during treatment at a government hospital.
KDA additional director (Land) Muhammad Nasir Shaikh, son of Abdul Rasheed, was arrested by NAB over his alleged involvement in China-cutting in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Surjani Town.
According to jail officials, Shaikh, a cardiac patient, had been also suffering from a lung disease since March 28 and had been admitted to the Civil Hospital Karachi on Saturday where he died during treatment.
About two years ago, another KDA official, Qavi Khan, had died the in central jail after he suffered a heart attack.
