Economic terrorism

This refers to the article, ‘Economic terrorism’ (March 30) by Farrukh Saleem. The writer has rightly pointed out the dichotomy of our political leadership.
As highlighted, while democratic countries around the world fight economic terrorism, our political leaders support economic terrorism. Policies in our country are meant to suit the rich and the mighty while the poor are consigned to poverty and illiteracy. It is a misnomer to call this system democratic. What can be done to undo this system and liberate the poor from the shackles of the corrupt mafia and usurpers of the nation’s wealth?
