LALAMUSA: DC M Ali Randhawa Saturday said 86 per cent construction work on Rs 4.45 billion 19km carpet road connecting Jalalpur Jattan with Sialkot from Shahbazpur Bridge had been completed. Addressing a meeting, the DC said the road and the bridge would be opened for general traffic by the end of May. The DC said 90 per cent work of 1,100-metre Shahbazpur Bridge had been completed. He said the construction of two guide banks had been completed and construction of Daewara Bridge was completed over 50 per cent. Commissioner M Asif said Shahbazpur Bridge was the second largest project of Gujranwala division for which the government had released 100 percent funds. Adviser to CM Nawabzada Tahir Malik said the Shahbazpur bridge was not less than the CPEC related project for the people of Gujrat.
