GDA launches cleanliness drive in Galiyat
ABBOTTABAD: The Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) has started cleanliness drive in Galiyat, which will continue till the 30th of June.
This was stated by GDA Director General Kaneez Sughra while inaugurating the three months long campaign.
An awareness raising walk was held at Nathiagali which was largely attended by the officials of the GDA, office-bearers of different trade organisations, tourists and notables of the area.
Workers and participants of the walk also removed garbage from some places and cleared the roads and paths in different parts of Nathiagali.
Kaneez Sughra said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had initiated the cleanliness campaign in the province which would be participated by all the tehsil municipal administrations, water and sanitation authorities and local governments in the province.
Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third position holders and cash awards will also be given by the government. She said different programmes had been planned during the drive.
The official added the drive included tree plantation, poster competitions, tourists’ awareness campaign, distribution of handbills and pamphlets for keeping Galiyat clean. She said the GDA management was committed to providing neat and clean atmosphere to tourists.
