12 held for allowing rape as ‘compensation’

TOBA TEK SINGH: Pirmahal police Sunday registered a case and arrested 12 accused persons who ordered a man to rape a girl in revenge for the rape of his sister. An FIR was registered on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Shaukat Ali.

He said accused Wasim Saeed of Gharibabad, Pirmahal, allegedly raped Nida Shahzad on March 20. On reconciliation request by accused Wasim and his family, Nida’s family put a condition that Ramzan, brother of rape victim Nida, will also rape accused Wasim’s sister as ‘pardon’. At least 12 persons of both sides approved this inhuman verdict in a joint meeting.

On March 21 evening, Ramzan allegedly raped Rubina, sister of rape accused Wasim. The SI said both the parties had written a stamp paper in which incidents were quoted and it was decided that no party will take legal action against each other. Police registered an FIR and arrested all the 12 accused on Saturday night. The arrested persons were Zaman, Nawaz, Naeem, Yasin, Salim, Bilal, Wasim, Ramzan, Rubina, Wasim's mother Naziran and two other women. Police were investigating the matter.
