Justice Muslim orders clean up of Chandka Hospital in week’s time

SUKKUR: Chairman Water Commission, Justice (retd) Ameer Hani Muslim on Tuesday visited the water supply schemes, drainage and sewerage systems as well as the water filtration plants in Larkana, Qambher, Ratedero and other cities. He visited the Chandka Medical Hospital, Khairpur, as well as the Chandka Medical College, where he took stock of the unhygienic and unsanitary conditions at the hospital. The chairman water commission also asked the MS of the Chandka Medical Hospital, and the principal of the Chandka Medical College about the status of cleanliness there. Justice (retd) Ameer Hani Muslim directed both the MS and the principal to ensure cleanliness and hygienic environment within seven days.

He summoned the judicial officer of Larkana and ordered him to furnish him with a report about the unsanitary conditions at the Chandka Medical Hospital. Justice (retd) Muslim also visited different water and sewage schemes in Qambher, Shahdadkot and Ratedero and criticised the deplorable sanitary services. He lamented the fact that people are being supplied with highly contaminated and toxic water and the administration was paying no heed to the affairs.

Later, the chairman Water commission inspected the site where sewage is being discharged into the Rice Canal and expressed annoyance over supply of highly contaminated water to the citizens. He asked the mayor Larkana, deputy commissioner and officers of the Public Health Engineering questions about the steps taken for supply of potable water to the residents of the city as well as general cleanliness of the Chandka Medical Hospital.
