ISLAMABAD: Director General Inland Revenue Investigation and Intelligence of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Khawaja Tanvir has issued immediate order to all his directors across the country to get documents from concerned departments of Pakistanis who carried out plea bargain with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and find out whether they had paid income tax on paid plea bargain amount.
He ordered all directors to reopen cases of those Pakistanis who made plea bargain with Ehtesab Cell/Ehtesab Bureau. The FBR will recover tax penalty on paid plea bargain money.
He also directed them to see whether Pakistanis, who entered into plea bargain with NAB, submitted annual tax return and if submitted then did they deposit tax on annual income and wealth tax.
On receiving such direction, the director Inland Revenue Intelligence and Investigation Peshawar attained data from NAB’s concerned department and issued tax and penalty notices to two defaulters.
