KARACHI: Due to security concerns, the organisers are reluctant to divulge information of the first Pro Kabaddi League which is expected to be held at a yet to be decided venue in near future.
“We don’t want to disclose these things at this stage because you know the situation in the country. We are waiting a bit until the situation gets better,” a leading figure of the organising committee told ‘The News’ on Sunday.
Originally scheduled in March at Lahore, the organisers said that some alterations had been made in the time-frame of the competitions.
“It would not be in March now. It has been pushed back. I will let you know once we would like to disclose the things,” the organiser said.
When asked how they would create a much needed hype if the organisers don’t want to disclose anything about the competitions, he said that there would be enough time for creating hype when they disclose the real picture.
This would be purely an event for the local players. From next year foreign players would also be inducted. Lahore is expected to host Pakistan’s inaugural league.
In India professional league is conducted every year. Pakistani players also play in those leagues.
