SC seeks details of projects under Thar Coal Authority
ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has sought details of all ongoing projects of Thar Coal Authority (TCA) and ordered to remove retired employees appointed on contract basis in all the departments of Sindh.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Amir Hani Muslim took up the case for hearing on Thursday. During the course of hearing, Advocate General Sindh took the plea that Chief Engineer TCA was appointed on contract base.
Justice Amir Hani remarked that construction of roads and schools is not the mandate of TCA. Employees have not to be appointed on contract base as court verdict is already there in this regard. Therefore Chief Engineer Muhammad Ali Memon be immediately removed, it ordered.
Secretary Coal Authority told the court that Chief Minister Sindh had appointed him. On it, Justice Qazi Faez Isa remarked how chief minister can make this appointment in the presence of Authority Board. The next hearing of case will take place in Karachi. The court adjourned the hearing of the case indefinitely.
