Takes notice of embezzlement in recruitment to Knowledge Park Company

LAHORE

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the Punjab government has promoted merit on every front without compromising on transparency and virtue; so none of the government officers will be allowed to go against it.

Taking strict notice on the report which highlighted embezzlement in the process of tracking down of recruitments in the Knowledge Park Company (KPC), he reprimanded KPC CEO on account of negligence and ordered immediate termination of all recruitments made violating the rules and dismissal of all those who were hired violating the merit.

Various matters of Lahore Knowledge Park Company (KPC) were reviewed in detail in a meeting chaired by the chief minister. Chief Minister's Inspection Committee Chairman presented a report which highlighted embezzlement in the process of tracking down of recruitments in the company.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the Punjab government had promoted merit on every front without compromising on transparency and virtue; so none of the government officers would be allowed to go against it. He directed all the government officers to abide by the rules and regulations; otherwise, strict action would be taken against those who misuse public chattels. He sought report on misappropriations in KPC, Lahore, within seven days so that guilty ones could be identified and held responsible. The departments concerned should keep an eye on government companies as such violation is not tolerable at any cost and if any such imprudence happens in future the secretaries concerned and members of boards of companies will be held accountable, he added. 

The chief minister said the Punjab government had established board members comprising of endowed folks and it was their responsibility to ensure smoothness and transparency of all matters. He said strict action would be taken against those who would turn back to the high standards set by the Punjab government.

Provincial Ministers Rana Mashhood Ahmad, Syed Raza Ali Gillani, Begum Zakia Shahnawaz, chief secretary, Chief Minister's inspection team chairman, Planning and Development chairman and officials of the departments concerned attended the meeting.

unity: Shahbaz Sharif has directed that personnel deployed at Integrated Command Control And Communication should be hired on merit and sent abroad for capacity building training. The chief minister presided over a meeting of Provincial Cabinet Committee on Peace which was held here Tuesday to review overall law and order in the province.

Current incidents of terrorism were censured in the meeting and Fateha was offered for the departed souls of martyrs, including police officers, jawans and other victims. Sympathies and condolences were expressed with the families of police officers, jawans and other persons who were martyred in the blasts.

Praising the passion of the families of the martyrs, the chief minister said that we would always stand by them as they had sacrificed their today for nations’ tomorrow and the whole nation salutes their sacrifices. He said Pakistan was passing through a critical phase and there was a need of unity to smash the nefarious designs of enemies.
