Roots International Schools (RIS) celebrating Hour of Code in nationwide campuses during whole Computer Science Education Week from December 7 till December 13.

To continue bringing programming activities to the students, RIS has made Hour of Code mandatory in all schools nationwide. The Hour of Code is a campaign to prove that regardless of age, race or gender, anyone can learn how to not just consume, but build the technologies of the future.

Branch head of Rawal Campus Sobia Abid: Technology has allowed us to give children the opportunity to explore, learn and experiment in ways that not possible before. Effective technology integration is accomplished when its use supports curricular goals. The key objective of this program is to use technology to enhance the delivery of the curriculum.

CEO RIS & Rector MIUC Walid Mushtaq says: One of the ways we bring forth our education mission of empowering every student on the planet to achieve more is by helping them develop essential skills, including computational thinking – so students and all young people can succeed today, and tomorrow. As technology has become an integral part of people’s daily lives around the world, we’re seeing a growing demand -- from students, parents, teachers, governments, and non-profits -- to teach youth not only how to use technology, but also how to create technology to help them become the innovators and drivers of growth and opportunity in their communities. Learning computer science builds critical skills like computational thinking and problem solving that strengthen abilities in any industry and any sector.

The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries.  Our entire school joined in on the largest education event in history.
