Advantages of coeducation

Coeducation has been a success in Pakistan. It has helped improve literacy and make atmosphere better in our education institutions. But the system has its supporters as well as opponents. Those who support it argue that in a poor country like Pakistan it solves the problems like the shortage of schools, colleges and competent teaching staff. Beside this, it also encourages healthy competition between boys and girls.
Those who oppose it say that the system is against our traditional norms. Keeping our prejudice aside, we should give the coeducation system some serious thought. In this modern age, women are being given an equal status with men in society. Let us therefore accept this system of education to keep up with the present world.
