PESHAWAR: The son of senior journalist Imtiaz Ali Takar passed away in Washington the other day.
The body of Farhan Ali, 15, was brought to Pakistan Saturday night.
His funeral would be offered at his ancestral village Takar near Takht Bhai in Mardan district today (Sunday) at 11am.
He was the grandson of late Rehman Gul, who served as manager National Bank of Pakistan.
Imtiaz Ali, the grieving father of Farhan Ali, wrote on his Facebook wall: “He left us too soon. Apparently he was yet to blossom into a pretty flower. It seems that he didn’t see the world beyond his early youth. Yes, he lived a short but pretty eventful life. He did some amazing things many would dream of. He left a deep imprint on those who came in touch with him. He left a fragrance all around.”
About his struggle against his ailment, Imtiaz Ali said: “He had courage beyond imagination. He fought the disease bravely. He never complained and fought with full determination till the end with an unshakable faith. He kept reciting Shahada all the time in his last moments.”
“I am proud of him. But today I can see he is loved by so many fathers and mothers some of whom I don’t even know. My Facebook request of prayer was shared by thousands of people; the overwhelming majority I didn’t even know,” he wrote.
