A woman accused of stealing money from cattle traders was caught at the city’s main cattle market. She was later handed over to police for further legalities, Geo News reported.

Cattle traders claim that the woman was operating under the guise of a beggar and had stolen at least Rs60,000.

On Sunday, a man accused of stealing animals was arrested from the same cattle market. He is accused of being part of a six-person group involved in the theft of animals. Arms and ammunition were recovered from the alleged thief.

Also on Sunday, the Sindh Rangers had arrested four men suspected of collecting extortion from sacrificial animals market located near the Liaquatabad flyover.

A spokesman for the force said the arrests were made following complaints of the market’s traders, who had allegedly informed the patrolling soldiers of the men trying to forcibly collect money from them.

The accused were identified as Mohammed Jibran, Fahad, Mohammed Tasleem and Mohammed Akbar; weapons, cash and extortion receipts were claimed of having been recovered from their possession.

The spokesman further requested the public to immediately contact the paramilitary force and provide them information regarding any such suspicious activity or presence of such group of people in their surroundings.
