King Charles has just received an ‘graciously accepted’ an invite from Irelands’ President Catherine Connolly yesterday following their meeting at Buckingham Palace.
This meeting came about as part of Ms Connolly’s three-day official visit to London and Leeds. According to the Irish Independent.
She even spoke out about the meeting itself after the fact and claims, “It was a very positive, warm meeting and it was a privilege to meet with King Charles. King Charles knows Ireland well and has been a positive voice for peace and reconciliation. In our discussion, we were mindful of the unique relationship as close neighbours and our intertwined history.”
“We discussed many things, and actually, I had a lot in common with the king in relation to the environment and climate change.”
In her eyes, the actual “highlight” of the meeting though occurred when she extended an invite to visit to Ireland but clarified “The details will emerge in due course between the two governments.”
According to the same outlet 2026 may not be the year for this trip because Ireland hosting the EU presidency starting from July.
