Attique-Awais suffer shock defeat in Badminton Tourney

KARACHI: Unseeded pair of Nadeem Khan and Tahir Shah from KPK pulled off a sensational upset in the first round after defeating top seeded duo of Attique Chaudhry and Awais Zahid of WAPDA in the men’s doubles event of All-Pakistan National Ranking Badminton Tournament in Lahore.
Top-ranked national pair of Attique and Awais conceded a shock defeat despite taking the first game easily 21-11.
However, in the second and third set, Nadeem and Tahir came from behind to win the sets 21-14 and 21-19 and record the biggest upset of the tournament.
