Over Rs308m disbursed for cops’ children
LAHORE:Punjab Police has disbursed over Rs308.4 million over the past two years for the treatment and rehabilitation of special needs children of serving police employees across various districts.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, as part of this initiative, Rs71.7 million was allocated for cochlear implant surgeries of 41 children suffering from hearing impairments, 654 children diagnosed with cerebral palsy received Rs10,000 monthly stipends, totaling over Rs126.8 million, 161 children affected by thalassemia were provided with Rs15,000 per month, amounting to Rs52.78 million in medical support, Rs10.2 million was spent on treatment of 162 children with various hearing disorders, 181 children battling serious illnesses were granted over Rs36.8 million for their medical care: Rs10 million was awarded as scholarships to 58 special needs students pursuing education. Additionally, 131 physically challenged children of police personnel were provided with wheelchairs.
IGP lauds police for ensuring peaceful Eid
IGP Punjab lauded the police force for ensuring peaceful and secure Eid celebrations across the province.
He praised the efforts of RPOs, DPOs, and traffic officers, who remained active in the field. The Punjab Safe Cities Authority also played a key role through effective monitoring, helping maintain cleanliness and public order.
He visited the house of Zille Shah’s sister on Eid-ul-Azha to extend festive greetings. He met with the family’s elders and children, inquired about their well-being, and expressed solidarity. Embracing the children, he said he came to share joy with Zille Shah’s family on this special occasion, reaffirming the police’s commitment to community engagement and compassion.
He met with traffic officers and personnel performing duty in the provincial capital on Eid-ul-Azha. He exchanged Eid greetings with traffic officers and commended them for discharging their duties with dedication. He encouraged the traffic personnel, shared a meal with them, and distributed sweets.
IGP Punjab visited the PSCA on Eid. He extended Eid greetings to police communication officers and staff. He was briefed on security and other arrangements made for Eid. IGP Punjab offered Eid-ul-Adha prayer at District Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh. Senior officials, including the DG FIA, Additional IG Punjab, and other police personnel, were present. Special prayers were offered for national peace and prosperity.
