Ceasefire declaration great success for Pakistan: Bilawal
“We are proud of our forces for responding to India with courage and bravery,” says PPP Chairman
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari described the declaration of a ceasefire a great success for Pakistan as it has not even been 24 hours since Pakistan operation began and India has come to the position that talks are the only solution.
“For three days, we were just defending ourselves, but after last night’s missile attack, when Pakistan launched its operation and went into India and carried out its counter-attack, India agreed to a ceasefire and talks. This is a great success for the people and forces of Pakistan,” he said in a conversation with Geo News on Saturday.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said, “We are proud of our forces for responding to India with courage and bravery.”
He said the Pakistan Air Force has created history and shot down 5 Indian aircraft.
Bilawal Bhutto said that the Pakistan Air Force has also shot down aircraft that no one has shot down till date and more than 100 Indian drone attacks were thwarted and a befitting reply was given. “Our forces have the capability to give a befitting reply,” he said.
“Pakistan has consistently perused dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable path to peace. War, violence and aggression are never the answer. Now that both India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire and dialogue we welcome this as a victory for diplomacy,” he said.
Bilawal said he believes that the ceasefire is a great success and it is necessary that a dialogue should be pursued in future as it is also important as there should be a dialogue on all the issue. “The issue of suspension of Indus Water Treaty which is crime against humanity to stop the water for 240 million people unilaterally and it is also important that the talks on this issue should be held. “If we have to reach on any result on the basis of talks to sign a new treaty, it is necessary to respect the previous treaties either bilateral or international.”
Second issue, he said for which Pakistan needs to convince India is about Pakistan demand of impartial and international enquiry into terrorist attack in Occupied Kashmir.
Meanwhile on the social media platform ‘X’, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan has consistently pursued dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable path to peace. “War, violence and aggression are never the answer,” he stated.
He stated, “Now that both India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire and dialogue we welcome this as a victory for diplomacy. We appreciate the role of USA, KSA and all the countries involved in achieving this historic milestone,” he stated.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated, “As a Pakistani, I could not be more proud of our people, our army and especially our Air Force. Pakistan Zindabad.”
PPP chairman said Pakistan’s response under Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos was necessary, proportionate, and in clear exercise of right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter. “We do not seek war, but we will not tolerate aggression. The nation stands united,” he said.
He stated that from Karachi to Khyber, from Gwadar to Gilgit, every Pakistani stands with the armed forces today. “We salute the professionalism of our defenders including our valiant Air Force and the unity of our people. No force can break a nation whose spirit is forged in sacrifice and solidarity,” he said.
