A high-level United Nations delegation, led by MPA Qasim Siraj Soomro and including James Roberts Okoth, Senior Programme Manager at FAO, visited Thar Block II and praised the community development initiatives that have significantly improved the lives of the Thari people.

The delegation, comprising officials from FAO, UNFPA, UNICEF, UN Women, UNRCO, WFP, and WHO, was briefed by the Thar Foundation’s team and taken on a tour of key project sites.

During their visit to the model village of New Senhri Dars, the delegation engaged with students at one of the 25 schools established by the Thar Foundation. At the Thar Foundation Hospital in Islamkot, the UN officials also administered polio drops to children, underscoring their support for public health initiatives. The team further toured a clean drinking water RO (reverse osmosis) plant.
