KARACHI: State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan carried out one of the country’s largest free diabetes screening campaigns, reaching over 113,000 people across four provinces as part of a nationwide public health initiative.
The week-long campaign, held in collaboration with more than 450 hospitals in Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, offered free diabetes testing and basic health check-ups. The drive identified nearly 10 per cent of participants as newly diagnosed diabetic cases. Among those already diagnosed, over 70 per cent were found to have poorly managed sugar levels, underlining persistent gaps in diabetes awareness and long-term care.
“This initiative reflects State Life’s deep-rooted commitment to the people of Pakistan,” said CEO Shoaib Javed Hussain. “By promoting early diagnosis and addressing preventable diseases, we’re helping save lives and reduce long-term healthcare costs.”
