Saaf Pani Co’s assets transfer to PSPA approved
LAHORE:The Punjab Saaf Pani Authority's first governing body meeting was held here on Thursday.
Chairman Governing Body MPA Chaudhry Zahid Akram presided over the meeting. Chief Executive Officer Syed Zahid Aziz gave a comprehensive briefing on the successful clean drinking water projects commenced by the Authority and presented the future action plan.
The governing body approved transfer of assets of Saaf Pani Company to Punjab Saaf Pani Authority. The decision took place in light of the already given approval from provincial cabinet to transfer the assets to Punjab Saaf Pani Authority, a sustainable programme to be compiled to register all the water filtration plants in Punjab, licensing of all small and large scale water filtration plants will also be done in the light of the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority Act and filtration plants providing unsafe water will be fined. The meeting also decided that a working paper will be prepared on reducing the import customs duties on equipment related to water filtration, meeting.
