Horse & Cattle Show tent pegging event inaugurated
LAHORE:Tent Pegging Championship was inaugurated at the Fortress Stadium here on Monday as part of Horse and Cattle Show 2025 events. A large number of male and female spectators attended the Tent Pegging and Mounted Archery competitions.
The competitions of Tent Pegging, Mounted Archery, Buzkashi and Shandur Polo are being organised in this year’s edition of Horse and Cattle Show. Hundreds of international players from Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Norway, the USA, South Africa, Oman, Turkey and Kazakhstan are participating in these events.
Over 50 local and international teams, consisting of more than 250 riders, will showcase their skills in the Tent Pegging Championship. Both local and international equestrians will perform spectacular lance fighting displays in individual, double, and triple events.
PHA Chairman Ghazali Saleem Butt stated that the Horse and Cattle Show was a revolutionary initiative by the Punjab government, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. An international level Horse and Cattle Show is being held in Punjab After three decades, with local team competitions taking place at Fortress Stadium on February 11 and international team competitions at Banyan Tree Polo Ground, Lahore Cantt on February 12.
PHA Director General M Tahir Wattoo said that the Horse and Cattle Show events will offer excellent opportunities for entertainment and high quality facilities to the citizens. The Mounted Archery (archery) competitions will take place at Banyan Tree Polo Ground on February 12, while the Buzkashi competition will be held at Fortress Stadium on February 15, followed by the Shandur Polo competition the same day.
