OPF committed to implement sustainable reforms
Islamabad : The Government of Pakistan has appointed Mohammed Afzaal Bhatti as the Managing Director of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) for a term of three years, says a press release.
The appointment, approved by the Federal Cabinet, demonstrates the government’s commitment to enhancing services for overseas Pakistanis. A seasoned Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in strategic leadership, Mr. Bhatti has also served as Commissioner of the Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission.
Upon assuming office, Mr. Bhatti outlined his vision for improving OPF’s services and ensuring the welfare of overseas Pakistanis. He emphasized the need for active engagement through social media to enhance transparency and communication. Mr. Bhatti directed the creation of a comprehensive master plan to address the evolving needs of overseas Pakistanis, with a focus on housing, welfare, and facilitation.
During a briefing, Mr. Bhatti discussed pending issues with departments such as IESCO, CDA, RDA, IBECHS, and SNGPL, stressing the urgency of fast-track resolutions to ensure the smooth implementation of projects. He highlighted the inventory of amenity plots in OPF Housing Scheme Zone-V, Islamabad, and proposed exploring joint ventures with renowned companies and Overseas Pakistanis to develop state-of-the-art facilities.
Mr. Bhatti further emphasized the importance of innovation, simplification, and enhanced coordination to elevate OPF’s standards. Under his leadership, OPF is committed to implementing sustainable reforms that will address the challenges faced by overseas Pakistanis and improve their quality of life.
