Bahadurabad police register murder FIR of sensitive agency’s official
Police have registered a case against unknown persons for killing an official of a sensitive agency in the Bahadurabad area. The official, 37-year-old Adnan Abbasi, was shot and killed in he Dhoraji area within the limits of the Bahadurabad police station on Sunday night.
SHO Abdul Rasool Bhughio said a case had been registered against unknown persons on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Zeeshan Abbasi. He said the police were investigating the incident from different angles, and they had also obtained CCTV footage.
The footage shows two suspects arriving on a motorcycle at 9:42pm. One of them gets off the motorbike while the other rides it forward, possibly to stay inconspicuous. After waiting for 20 minutes, the suspect who dismounted the motorbike approaches the victims and shoots him in the head. The suspect fires more shots before fleeing.
The police recovered a total of four 9mm shell casings from the crime scene. The SHO further stated that the victim’s family initiallyassumed it was a robbery case and, out of fear, handed over their mobile phone to the suspect. However, police investigators believe that this incident might not be a robbery. The case is being thoroughly investigated to uncover the actual motive behind the attack.
The officer said that deceased was posted in Malir Cantonment and was the father of two children. The incident took place in Adamjee Nagar Block B, Dhoraji Colony. The body was transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center.
The deceased Adnan Abbasi, son of Ibrahim Abbasi hailed from Abbottabad. Police suspect an attempt to portray the crime as a robbery and are investigating all aspects of the case. Efforts are underway to arrest the suspect.
