Court grants bail to accused in offensive video case
PESHAWAR: District and Sessions Judge in Peshawar, Inamullah Wazir, has granted bail to Shabbir Jan, accused of filming an objectionable video of transgender person Dolphin Ayaan and threatening him with dire consequences.
Advocate Nauman Shah represented the accused in court.According to the prosecution, Shabbir Jan, along with other accomplices, allegedly recorded an objectionable video of Ayaan using a mobile phone, repeatedly assaulted him, and shared the video on social media.
Following the incident, a case was registered at Gulfat Hussain Shaheed Police Station, leading to Shabbir Jan’s arrest.The accused subsequently filed a bail application in the sessions court. During the hearing, the complainant, Dolphin Ayaan, was present and recorded a statement.Ayaan said he had no objection if the court granted bail to the accused.
