ECP disqualifies PML-N MNA Bazai
ECP announces reserved verdict, concerning two complaints filed against Bazai, by Nawaz Sharif
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan Thursday disqualified PMLN’s renegade MNA Adil Khan Bazai, declaring his seat from NA-262, Quetta, vacant.
The Election Commission bench, headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, announced the reserved verdict, concerning the two complaints filed against Bazai, by PMLN President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
The disqualified lawmaker had joined the PMLN after winning the general elections held on February 8 as an independent. However, he allegedly violated the party’s instructions during the budget session and afterwards on the occasion of the 26th Constitutional Amendment.
After the orders were issued, a notification for de-seating the legislator and declaring the NA seat vacant was released.
