Emaan wins gold in MMA Asian Championship
LAHORE: Pakistan’s Emaan Khan clinched a gold medal at the Mixed Martial Arts Asian Championship held here. In a thrilling final, Emaan defeated Kazakhstan’s Dinara Ayapova in the senior women’s flyweight 56.7 kg category, securing Pakistan’s second gold medal in the tournament.
Earlier, Bano Butt had won the gold medal in the women’s category. Meanwhile, Indian MMA fighter Khushboo Nishat shed positive light on her experience in Pakistan after competing in the Mixed Martial Arts Asian Championship held in Lahore.
Speaking to the media following her semi-final match, Nishat said that her preconceived notions about Pakistan had been completely dispelled. She commended the Pakistani people for their warm hospitality. “The people here are very good, not at all as we heard,” Nishat remarked.
