Traffic diversion plan announced for Bohra community’s congregations

The Karachi Traffic police on Friday issued a traffic diversion plan for the congregations of the Bohra community during Muharram.

The spokesman for the traffic police said the congregations of the Bohra community will be held from July 7 to July 16 at Tahiri Masjid, Saddar, in which a large number of community members will participate.

For security reasons, Dr Syedna Muhammad Burhanuddin Road and Mir Karam Ali Talpur Road will remain closed for traffic during the congregations. The Karachi Traffic Police have prepared a special traffic plan in this regard. Parking spaces for participants are St. Paul’s School (drop point), St. Patrick’s Church, City Saddar Centre Near Murshid Bazaar and the Army Public School.

Alternative routes

PP Chowrangi: the traffic coming from Hassan Square will not be allowed to go from PP Chowrangi to Saddar Dawakhana during the congregations. This traffic will be diverted from PP Chowrangi to MA Jinnah Road.

Capri Signal: The traffic coming from MA Jinnah Road, Numaish and Tibet will not be allowed to go from Capri to Saddar Hospital during the congregations. This traffic will be run on MA Jinnah Road.

Preedy Chowk: Traffic coming from Regal will not be allowed to go from Preedy Chowk to Saddar Hospital during the majalis. This traffic will be diverted from Preedy Chowk towards the left side of MA Jinnah Road.

Lucky Star: Traffic coming from Sarwar Shaheed Chowk, Atrium Mall, will not be allowed to go from Lucky Star to Tahiri Masjid and the Saddar Dawakhana during the congregations. Dawood Pota Signal: Traffic coming from Sharea Iraq, Paradise Signal, will be diverted from Dawood Pota Signal (Murshid Bazaar) on the left side from Preedy Chowk to MA Jinnah Road.

Cantonment Chowk: Traffic coming from FTC and Iqbal Shaheed Road will not be allowed to proceed from Lucky Star to Tahiri Masjid and the Saddar Dawakhana during the congregations. This traffic will be diverted towards Regent Plaza on Sharea Faisal or Sarwar Shaheed Road and Atrium Mall.

Moreover, heavy traffic from Corridor 3 and from the Capri Signal, Cantonment Chowk, will be prohibited from entering Tahiri Masjid and the Saddar Dawakhana areas. The public is requested to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and traffic police to avoid trouble.
