This letter refers to the letter ‘Education in peril’ (June 22, 2024) by Dr Intikhab Ulfat. The writer seems to be perturbed over insufficient allocation towards higher education in the budget.
It is pertinent to ask how much clout and sway the educationists have held in the political chess game witnessed over the last 76 years. Budget allocations are correlated to the influence and leverage of competing contestants rather than development needs.
