FIR registered against three cops for looting paan shop twice

Police have registered a case against individuals in plainclothes for allegedly looting a paan shop twice in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

The incident came to light after CCTV footage went viral on social media. Personnel, arriving in a police mobile, looted a paan shop and fled in Block 13-D of Gulshan-e-Iqbal. The shopkeeper claimed he suffered a loss of over Rs70,000, adding that this was the second time the same individuals had looted his shop, the first incident occurring on the 2nd of this month.

The affected shopkeeper, Shahzaib Mughal, reported that individuals in plainclothes came to his shop in a police mobile. One person jumped into his shop, and the individuals looted over Rs35,000 from the cash counter, along with cigarettes and other items. The CCTV footage showed a police mobile parked in front of the shop, with one plainclothes individual seen outside while another was inside the shop, collecting cash and cigarettes into a bag. One of the plainclothes individuals had a clear face, while the other was wearing a mask.

DIG East also took notice of the incident. A case was registered on the complaint of the shopkeeper, and the individuals involved in the incident were being traced.
