Rs5.5bn allocated for 8 info, broadcasting projects under PSDP
ISLAMABAD: The government has allocated Rs5.5 billion for five ongoing and three new projects of the information and broadcasting in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the financial year 2024-25.
According to the PSDP document, released here Wednesday out of the total allocation, an amount of Rs5,229 million has been allocated for the ongoing schemes, whereas Rs270.791 million were earmarked for the new ones.
As per the budgetary document, under the ongoing schemes, an amount of Rs405 million has been earmarked for the Central Monitoring Unit (CMU), Rs500 million for the National Information Media Archival Repository (NIMAR), Rs550 million for the Rehabilitation of Medium Wave Services from Khairpur. Moreover, Rs324 million have been allocated for the establishment of National Film Production Institute at PTV Academy, and an amount of Rs3,450 million has been allocated to the upgradation of HPT Rawat, transmitting station by installing 1000KW DRM-enabled MW transmitter.
Under the new schemes, an amount of Rs100.791 million has been allocated for the establishment of Sautul Quran FM Network Phase-III for 30 more cities, Rs100 million for the Citizen Collaboration Facilitation Center and Rs70 million for setting up National Communication and Strategy Unit in the country.
