ISLAMABAD: The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has delayed its decision to lift the ban on PIA flights.
Sources say that the ban has been extended due to the failure of Civil Aviation Authority to take the steps indicated by the EU Commission. In the report presented at the meeting of the EU Commission on May 31, Pakistan has been advised to appoint officers with professional qualifications in civil aviation.
According to the report, the ban has been imposed for 4 years due to the frivolous behavior of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority. Sources say the non-resumption of flights to European countries may have negative effects on PIA privatisation.
