US filmmakers feature ICA workshops
LAHORE: The Institute of Arts & Culture (ICA) Lahore Friday hosted a series of workshops featuring renowned filmmakers from New York and Los Angeles, including James McMillan.
Luisa Iskin, Andrew Fierro, and Sadia Ashraf also attended the workshops. These Pakistan International Film Festival workshops, held in collaboration with the Karachi Film Society, offered in-depth training and insights to aspiring filmmakers. In a workshop on the art of cinematography, James McMillan shared his impressions of Pakistan, saying he was welcomed by an incredibly friendly community. He evinced his plans to involve Pakistani settings and talent in his future projects. Andrew Fierro led a session focused on the logistics and leadership required to run a successful feature film production unit. Luisa Iskin stressed the critical importance of a well-crafted script over star power.
ICA Chancellor M Faisal Janjua said that these workshops were meant to bridging international cinema with the young talent of Pakistan.
