Imran to be out of jail this month: PTI
Gohar clarified that they didn’t have any backdoor contacts with anyone, and if there were any, everyone would be informed
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan Tuesday claimed the party’s founder chairman Imran Khan will be in the public this month.
Talking to the media outside the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, he said that former prime minister’s release was very important and their effort was to get him freed before Eid.
He said there were 14-hour long hearings in Adiala jail. The PTI founder will be released from jail in May and will be among the public.
Gohar clarified that they didn’t have any backdoor contacts with anyone, and if there were any, everyone would be informed.
“We are in talks with Maulana Fazlur Rehman about the protest and hopefully we and the Maulana will be together, we are very close to completing the alliance,” he maintained. However, he made it clear that they would hold talks with everyone except MQM-P, PMLN and PPP.
Gohar said the name of Sher Afzal Marwat has been finalised for the Public Accounts Committee chairman. He complained that they were not given a chance to speak in parliament, and while they protest peacefully, cases are registered against them.
The PTI chairman said the “jail administration did not allow senior lawyer Intezar Panjutha, who is our focal person, to enter jail even today.” He said that only five lawyers were allowed to meet the PTI founder.
