Rules being amended to remove upper age bar to hire top professionals

ISLAMABAD: A summary has been moved to the federal government to remove the age limit of 65 years for top professional positions, amending the previous government’s policy.
The amendment, if approved, will pave the way for new appointments on special professional pay scales. There will be no upper age limit for appointments. Under the amendment, a new appointment will be possible after the age of 65 years. A revision of extension beyond the age of 65 years in the present appointment is also a part of the summary. A committee, headed by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, suggested the amendments.

According to government sources, the federal government has decided to increase the efficiency of federal ministries and divisions. Talented professionals, technical experts and consultants will be hired. The federal government is working to create a world-class talent pool. It will be made more effective by bringing innovation in the governance system in federal ministries and divisions.
