LAHORE: Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab released an amount of Rs8.5 million to various units and districts of Punjab Police.
He said that districts and units that did not have their own welfare projects were given money every month from the Police Endowment Fund. He said that this money was being spent on police constabulary and welfare of martyrs' families and educational scholarships for children. Spokesman for Punjab Police said that Special Protection Unit, Telecommunication, Investigation Punjab was given Rs1 million each, and Special Branch, and CTD Rs500,000 each.
