Overcharging, hike in prices witnessed during Eid days

LAHORE:The government left the public at the mercy of the sellers who sold their items at the highest rates during the Eid holidays and on Sunday. Eid holidays witnessed highest overcharging and upward trend in prices.

The chicken sellers have moved one step ahead in overcharging the public by issuing a fake rate list too while the district administration kept giving all is good report to the chief minister. The chief minister is also satisfied with the performance of the district administration and its reports on the public matters.

This week price of chicken increased by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs442-459 per kg, sold at Rs550-560 per kg, and chicken meat by Rs15 per kg, fixed Rs666 per kg, and sold Rs720-1200 per kg.

The price of potato soft skin reduced by Rs4 per kg, fixed at Rs50-55 per kg, sold at Rs90-100 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs46-50 per kg, and C-grade at Rs38-42 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs70-80 per kg.

The price of onion A-grade unchanged at Rs195-205 per kg, sold at Rs250-260 per kg, B-grade at Rs182-190 per kg, sold at Rs220-230 per kg, and C-grade by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs165-170 per kg, sold at sold at Rs180-200 per kg.

The price of tomato A-grade reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs130-135 per kg, sold at Rs300-320 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs110-115 per kg, and C-grade at Rs90-9530 per kg, mixed sold at Rs240 per kg.

The price of garlic local was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs250-260 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg, and Garlic China fixed at Rs600-615 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg, Garlic Harnai at Rs415-430 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg.

The price of Ginger Thai reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs605-625 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg, and Ginger Chinese fixed at Rs570-590 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg. Cucumber Farm declined by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg. Brinjal price was declined by Rs25 per kg, fixed Rs48-50 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg. Biter gourd price further declined by Rs60 per kg, fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs150-160 per kg.

The price Spinach farm unchanged at Rs20-23 at Rs50-80 per kg. Zucchini local was fixed at Rs190-200 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg, Zucchini farm also reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg, and Zucchini long reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg.

The price of lemon China unchanged fixed at Rs165-170 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg, lemon local reduced by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs340-350 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg.

Pumpkin was further reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg. Green chili price A-grade declined by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg, B-grade at Rs60-65 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg.

Capsicum price was further reduced by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg. Price of cauliflower was increased by Rs2 per kg, fixed at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg, cabbage by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs75-80 per kg, sold Rs140-160 per kg.

Carrot Chinese downed by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs160-200 per kg, carrot local unchanged at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs240 per kg. Arum was declined by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs145-150 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg.

Ladyfinger also reduced by Rs60 per kg, fixed at Rs220-230 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg. Turnip was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg. Fenugreek (Methi) unchanged fixed at Rs42-45 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg. Pea price was unchanged at Rs86-90 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg.

Beetroot was sold at Rs240-300 per kg. Coriander was sold at Rs40 per bundle. Radish was fixed at Rs9-10 per kg, sold at Rs40-60 per kg. Mogray price was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs105-110 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg.

Kachnar was reduced by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs210-220 per kg, sold at Rs300-320 per kg. The price of different variety of apples was fixed at Rs58-290 per kg, sold at Rs180-500 per kg.

The price of Banana A-category reduced by Rs40 per dozen, fixed at Rs145-150 per dozen, sold at Rs200 per dozen, and B-category by Rs20 per dozen, fixed at Rs115-120 per dozen, sold at Rs150 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs80-85 per dozen, sold at Rs120-130 per dozen.

Dates Irani reduced by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs420-440 per kg, sold at Rs800 to 1400 per kg. Papaya reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs185-190 per kg, sold at Rs200-240 per kg.

Pomegranate danaydar unchanged at Rs400-420 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, Pomegranate khandahri gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs350-365 per kg, sold at Rs600-700 per kg, Pomegranate bedana by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs760-780 per kg, sold at Rs1200-1400 per kg.

Guava was reduced by Rs70 per kg, fixed at Rs85-120 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg.

Musami was gained by Rs25 per dozen, fixed at Rs90-160 per dozen, not sold.

Grapefruit was fixed at Rs20-22 per piece, sold at Rs30-40 per piece.

Sweet potato was unchanged at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg.

Kinow was fixed at Rs160-265 per dozen, sold at Rs600-800 per dozen.

Strawberry was further reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs60-100 per kg, sold at Rs80-150 per kg.

Melon was reduced by Rs60 per kg. fixed at Rs65-110 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg, melon round was fixed at Rs66-70 per kg, sold at Rs120-130 per kg.

Gapes tofi was reduced by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs240-250 per kg, sold at Rs400–500 per kg.

Lokat was fixed at Rs150-155 per kg, fixed at Rs200-220 per kg. Watermelon was reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs75-80 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.
