Wasa issues tube-well timings, Eid SOPs
LAHORE: Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) issued tube-well operation timings and Eid SOPs here on Monday. On the special instructions of Wasa MD Ghafran Ahmed, on the day of Eidul Fitr, water will be delivered to consumers in three slabs of time. On the day of Eid, the first period will be from 4:30 am to 10 am, the second period will be from 12 noon to 2 pm and the third and final period will start from 5 pm to 8:30 pm.
From the second day of Eid, the operating hours of tube-wells will be from 5 am to 9 am, from 12 noon to 2 am and from 5 pm to 9 pm. Apart from this, the MD has instructed strict implementation of the SOPs for Eid. He passed instructions to the Directors of Operation and Director of Maintenance of all towns to efficiently run water supply, sewage and drainage systems during Eid.
All directors shall conduct a thorough survey of all areas under the jurisdiction of Wasa and complaints like open or broken manholes, overflow of water should be redressed immediately. The MD said all field offices remained functional and staff fully mobilised and all drains should be desalinated as per schedule.
He directed for ensuring safety measures around all development schemes and all open pits should be repaired immediately. He also directed that all operational staff will be on 24-hour duty in three shifts during Eid days. In order to provide the best services to the public on Eid, the Eid holidays of all operational staff have been cancelled.
