PTI nominates lawyer from Kohat for Senate
A lawyer by profession, Zeeshan previously served as a civil judge in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa judiciary
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has nominated a new face among seasoned politicians for a seat in the upper house of parliament.
Khurram Zeeshan, a lawyer who remained loyal and committed to PTI and its chairman during the troubled times, has been nominated for a general seat in the Senate in the coming polls.
A lawyer by profession, Zeeshan previously served as a civil judge in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa judiciary. He is also a poet and a pilot, and holding a master’s degree in mass communication alongside his legal qualifications.
Zeeshan’s residence was raided several times in recent months due to his vocal support for former prime minister Imran Khan on various media platforms. He has also represented several PTI leaders and workers in various court cases. He along with other leaders lead a successful election campaign for the PTI candidates in Kohat in the recent polls. Khurram kept the party alive when other leaders were in hiding and continued to hold rallies, public meetings as well as remained busy on social media.
While initially nominated as a covering candidate for the National Assembly seat from Kohat in the February 8 general elections, Zeeshan stepped aside as Shehryar Afridi contested and secured victory in the constituency.
The party has also nominated Irfan Saleem as a candidate for the general seat in Senate from KP. Saleem has been an active member of the party who remained a town council member and city president.
