PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday declared that the court would take back its orders for bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf senior vice-president and Member National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat if he did not appear on the next hearing on April 3.
The PHC two-member bench comprising Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Wiqar Ahmad heard the case while the PTI lawmaker was represented by Zahir Shah Marwat. The counsel informed the bench that the PTI leader was busy in Supreme Court due to which he did not appear in his writ petition filed for quashing of first information reports (FIRs) registered against him.
Upon this, Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim said that Sher Afzal Marwat was facing multiple cases, therefore, he should have appeared in person during the court proceedings. He said that the stay order on his arrest would be vacated if he did not appear at the next hearing in the court.
The judge said that the court had granted him bail but now he was not appearing for hearing in the petition. He said they were giving him the last chance to appear or else the stay order on his arrest would be vacated.
