Speaking with Geo News, Zaman said he was a long-time and sincere worker of the PTI and the party leadership trusted him, therefore he would not make any statement that would hurt the party.

He said that only the PTI president and general secretary could issue him a show-cause notice, and he would not make a non-serious comment regarding the matter.

He said the show-cause notice did not have any standing, adding that all the matters regarding the PTI’s January 28 rally at Clifton’s Teen Talwar had been discussed with the party leaders beforehand.

The Karachi PTI president remarked that he would do whatever it took to organise the party in the city.

According to sources, Zaman and Sindh PTI President Haleem Adil Sheikh are at odds over the award of party tickets to candidates in the General Elections 2024.

On Monday, Sindh PTI Deputy General Secretary Abdul Jalil Khan Marwat had issued a show-cause notice to Zaman, asking him to explain why he misused the name of PTI founder Imran Khan for holding a rally at Teen Talwar though there were directions for the candidates for taking out rallies in their own constituencies.

Marwat had said that the district leadership had denied any consultations for taking out the rally and such a decision led to the registration of an FIR against over 4,000 activists in which anti-terrorism law sections were included.

He had asked Zaman to explain why disciplinary proceedings should not be initiated against him for sabotaging the election campaign of the PTI and misusing the name of the party founder.
