LAHORE: PPP Lahore President Chaudhry Aslam Gill has said that fake alliances are being formed in Punjab and Sindh which is harmful to the country, democracy, unity and economy.

“We will not accept it and if this election goes beyond February 8, the people will point their finger at the Election Commission,” he asserted.

Addressing a press conference, Aslam Gill said: “People’s Party will go for landslide including Punjab in the February 8 elections. Be it Mochi Durwaza or Liberty, all the organizations and workers of Lahore are ready to welcome Bilawal outside the Lahore High Court next Tuesday (December 19).

Party flags and flax will be installed on Mall Road. Bilawal has emerged as a great leader this time. The bombs of poverty, utility bills and inflation are being dropped on the public. The only solution to all issues is fair elections.”

Gill demanded that instead of spending Rs2.5 billion on all underpasses, the caretaker government should invest this for people’s welfare.

“Nawaz Sharif has gone out of the country many times after making agreements. Mian Sahib, people are pointing fingers at you,” he said.

To a question, he said that the PPP is demanding an election within 90 days. “Asif Zardari saved the economy by showing no confidence in the Imran government. We will not go for alliance, we will contest the election on our own,” Gill concluded.

Those present at the conference were Aurangzeb Barki, Haji Azizur Rahman Chan, Faiza Malik, Umar Sharif Bukhari, Amjad Jat, Atif Rafiq Chaudhary, Asif Nagra, Zahid Zulfiqar, Nargis Khan and Rana Ashar.
