Recovery of arms, liquor: All witnesses cross-examined

ISLAMABAD. All the witnesses have been cross-examined a case Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur about recovery of arms and liquor.

During the hearing of the case on Friday registered in Bhara Kahu police station, Gandapur’s lawyer Zahoorul Hasan and prosecutor Khayyam Abbasi appeared in the judicial magistrate’s court.

The last witness of the case, Yunus, appeared in the court through video link and was cross-examined. The bottle recovered from Gandapur’s car was presented in the court as evidence. Yunus confirmed that the bottle was part of the record as evidence.

During the hearing, KP CM’s lawyer requested to provide a questionnaire for Gandapur. The judge remarked that while submitting the questionnaire, it is mandatory for Gandapur to be present in the courtroom, so, when the KP CM would be coming to the court.

The lawyer said that he would inform the court on Saturday, requesting the court to provide the questionnaire by Saturday. The hearing of the case was adjourned till today.

In another case, a local court granted interim bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and senior jurist Shoaib Shaheen in a case of taking out a rally on the party’s foundation day. The court stopped the police from arresting Shoaib Shaheen.

During the hearing on the pre-arrest bail application, lawyer Sardar Masroof took the stand that the administration filed a false, baseless and political case against Shoaib Shaheen.

A new case is registered every time the PTI conducts a peaceful protest. Shoaib Shaheen took a stand that due to the cases registered against him, he is not practicing law as three to four cases are being registered against him in a month.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Owais Muhammad told Shoaib that he was getting court experience because of the cases. The court granted interim bail to the PTI leader on a bond of Rs5,000 and issued notices to the parties for May 7.
