SI booked for abducting man, death threats
LAHORE:A police sub-inspector was booked for extortion, hurling threats of killing in a police encounter after abducting a citizen by North Cantonment Police.
Reportedly, Incharge Investigations New Anarkali Sub-Inspector Ishtiaq Anwar had abducted a citizen Ahmad Nawaz. He had hurled threats at him and his family by using names of senior police officers that they would kill him in a police encounter. Anwar allegedly demanded extortion money to free the victim. The victim’s father Aslam Sindhu paid Rs600,000 an extortion amount to get him freed. As Ahmad was freed, his father lodged a case before police. North Cantonment Police has registered a case, arrested him and handed over to Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment.
Bullet-riddled body found
The bullet-riddled body of an 18-year-old youth was recovered from a Shershah Colony house on Wednesday. The victim identified as Muhammad Ali Zeeshan had come to Sardar Town to meet his friend. The police and forensic team collected the evidence and started the investigation. The body was shifted to the morgue.
