LAHORE: A house worth over Rs135 million has been given to the family of a father and son, a constable and head constable respectively, martyred during duty.
Constable Muhammad Qaiser had died in an encounter in Mohlanwal with suspected robbers. While his father, head constable Allah Ditta had died on 25 January, 2011, outside Karbala Gamay Shah in a suicide blast reportedly while attempting to stop a suicide bomber from entering the gate.
The government has awarded Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal to head constable Allah Ditta. Muhammad Faisal and Ahmad Ali, brothers of constable Muhammad Qaisar has also been serving in police department.
IG Punjab Usman Anwar said that nothing can compensate the sacrifices of this family. Punjab Police will never abandon their heroes, he maintained. The house awarded to the family is situated in a private housing society.
